Small Groups

At Meadows Church, we are following Jesus together. This journey not only focuses on the message of Jesus, but also his methods. Jesus spent most of his time here on earth with his disciples. They walked together, ate together, experienced miracles together, and certainly laughed and cried together. The point is, they were together! Jesus believes the best way to make disciples is through relationships...and so do we. This is why we have Small Groups at Meadows Church. Join one today and develop real friendships that can lead you closer to Jesus, while also giving you the perfect place to invite someone else who needs these relationships, too!

Small Group FAQs

How often are Small Groups and how long does one last?

Our Small Groups meet every week and typically last 90 minutes.

What is the curriculum? Are there specific studies? Any homework?

There won't be any homework, but we will encourage you to read the Bible on your own and spend time with your new friends from group! The curriculums will vary as the group grows, but the main discussion will always be centered on the Bible and how it speaks into our life situations.

How many people are usually in a Small Group?

Small Group size varies depending on how long the group has been together. They usually start small and then grow. Once a group is averaging more than 12-14 people, we will raise up a new leader and the group will multiply into two groups!

I have an odd schedule and won't be able to make it to group every week. Should I still join?

Absolutely! Our Small Groups aren't necessarily cumulative in the sense that you'll fall behind if you miss. You'll be able to jump into the story for that week even if you have previously missed- we also do this because our groups are always open to new people, and we don't want them to feel behind either. But, most of all, joining a Small Group is joining a family and making real friendships that can truly change your life…not about having perfect attendance.

What about dinner and childcare?

We believe Small Group is best when a meal is involved! Typically the first 30min is dinner together, and then discussion for around 60min. Most groups will take rotations on who is providing the meal, or have everyone bring a part of the meal to combine together at group. As for your children, they are always welcome. If your Small Group has childcare available, the cost is typically $5 per kid with a max of $20.

I've led a group in the past. How can I lead a Small Group at Meadows Church?

Awesome! The pathway to lead here at Meadows Church begins by simply joining a current Small Group. As the group grows and the need to multiply becomes apparent, an Apprentice will be selected to branch out and begin leading one of the newly formed groups.
